When the spring semester begins on January 19, 2010, the Lodi Community Band’s rehearsals will continue on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Band Room of Millswood Middle School, 233 North Mills Avenue, Lodi, California. Our first rehearsal in 2010 will be on Monday, January 25.

In order to be a member of the Band, you must register as a San Joaquin Delta College student via the college’s online registration system. If you have not previously enrolled in a Delta College class or more than two semesters have elapsed since you last attended the college, you must reapply for admission following the step-by-step directions set forth on Delta’s website. NOTE: Due to budget reductions, applications for admission will not be accepted until January 12, 2010.

After you have completed the application process or, if you are a continuing student, you must enroll in one of two classes: If you would like to receive one unit of college credit and a letter grade (A – F), register for Music 028 (Course No. 76027). If you prefer to audit the course and not receive college credit (you may earn a maximum of four credits), register for Music 128 (Course No. 43868). NOTE: Due to budget reductions, registration will close on December 18, 2009, reopen on January 12, 2010, and close again on January 14, 2010.

High school students, please note: You are invited to be a member of the Lodi Community Band and earn one unit of credit from Delta College, but you must be concurrently enrolled in your high school’s band and obtain permission from both your principal and high school band director. Mr. Gross will provide you with the required forms at the first rehearsal of the semester. It is your responsibility to obtain those individuals’ signatures and return the completed forms to Mr. Gross.

Directions to the Millswood Middle School Band Room:

From Turner Road: Turn south onto Mills Avenue (next to General Mills). The school is on your right immediately after and adjacent to First Baptist Church.

From Lodi Avenue: Go north on Mills Avenue, past the intersection of Elm Street and Mills Avenue. The school is on your left immediately before and adjacent to First Baptist church.

Millswood Middle School and First Baptist Church share a large parking lot. The Band Room is at the front of the campus. Enter the school’s front gate past the Cafeteria/Multi-Purpose Room on your left. Proceed straight, up the steps leading to double doors. Follow the sound of your fellow musicians tuning up, preparing to rehearse!
