The Lodi Community Bandโ€™s weekly rehearsals continue throughout the summer! We’re meeting every Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the American Legion Building, situated at 320 N. Washington Street, Lodi (just west of the Lodi Grape Festival Grounds, at the corner of Washington and Lockeford Streets).

We are currently rehearsing for three exciting musical events that, if you are a band musician, you will want to be a part of:

Flag Day Commemoration

Join us on Monday, June 14, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. at the Veterans’ Plaza on Pine Street between the Carnegie Forum (old Lodi Library) and City Hall.

Celebrate America

This year’s patriotic extravaganza will take place on July 1, 2010, beginning at 5:00 p.m. on the Omega Nu Stage at Hutchins Street Square, 125 South Hutchins Street, Lodi.

Summer Concert

Also on the Omega Nu Stage at Hutchins Street Square, 125 South Hutchins Street, Lodi, on Monday, August 9, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. You won’t want to miss your last opportunity to see Robert E. Gross conduct the band and help all of the Band members, as well as the community, thank him for his years of leadership! Bob is retiring and, although he will continue to be part of the Band, serving as a valued member of the French horn section, his service as our Director will be recognized.

Note: Due to budget cuts, San Joaquin Delta College is not offering course credit for summer participation in the Band! So there is no need to register as a Delta College student in order to be a member of the Band during the summer months! However, we continue to encourage all interested musicians who are entering their high school freshman year and older to join us!

Registration for the Fall 2010 semester is now open! In order to continue as a member of the Band once the Fall semester begins, you must register at the San Joaquin Delta College website. The Band will continue to rehearse on Monday evenings, under the direction of San Joaquin Delta College Director of Bands, Arthur J. Holton, III.
